Children's House 2

Children's House 2

In Children's House 2, our curriculum is based 50% around Montessori activities as used in Children's House 1 and 50% around a classical preschool environment with teacher table and play centers.  This hybrid creates a supportive and inclusive classroom where students feel safe to take risks, fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and uses a variety of teaching methods to cater to the child's individual learning style.

In Children's House 2 your student will begin their phonic journey and learn to recognize the letters of the alphabet as well as letter sound association. In addition to phonics, we place a strong focus on numerical recognition as well as counting to ten. We believe focusing on these important foundational academic concepts will help the student excel in the preschool years.  In addition to traditional academic concepts we supplement our curriculum with sign language, play centers, STEM activities, as well as sensory bins.

Parallel and Group Play

During this stage of early childhood we continue to encourage parallel play as an important part of the child's development while also introducing group play. This teaches the student about collaborative play used in preschool classrooms while still in a smaller class setting.
