Our Kindergarten class uses the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) implemented by the Texas Education Agency. In addition to covering all TEKS your child would be required by Texas Public Schools, we introduce, practice, and Master 1st and 2nd grade TEKS.  We cover all subjects: Phonics/Reading, Grammar, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Technology.  In addition to these subjects we do hands on STEM activities, Art, and Physical Education. Our school screen and pulls out children who qualify for Gifted and Talented as well as provide RTI (Response to Intervention) groups to target specific TEKS students which students may struggle. We believe in teacher lead modeling, followed by small group application allowing students to use critical thinking and problem solving. Concepts are completed with individual testing of student mastery. In addition to academics we teach and apply a social emotional curriculum based around the Zones of Regulations which teaches children to recognize their feelings and self regulate to a state in which they can effectively communicate and show empathy to their peers.
